CRHA Hall of Fame
Lloyd Nugent - 2009 Inductee
Lloyd Nugent was employed with the Ministry of Transportation for many years. He has been showing road horses for a great number of years as well, along with his daughter, Carolyn. Carolyn keeps their harness immaculate — cleaning and wiping it after every class. She also is a familiar face in the ladies and open bike classes and rides with her father in the turnout classes. Lloyd is a popular exhibitor at many of the fairs in eastern Ontario as well as at the Royal Winter Fair. In fact, Lloyd was the winner of the inaugural OHHA Green Roadster Classic, which was held at the 2001 Royal Winter Fair, with Total Vision. This beautiful Dream of Glory gelding earned the honour of Road Horse to Bike Reserve Canadian Champion 2001 as well. Lloyd enjoys the competition and that it is a family outing. A not-so-well-kept-secret is Lloyd’s love of Moree Thomas’ raspberry pies having topped the bidding numerous times at the auction held at the CRHA’s Annual Banquet. His support of the CRHA is greatly appreciated.
Lloyd Nugent was inducted into the CRHA Hall of Fame at the 2009 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
