David Watkins of Peterborough is no stranger
to the show ring having shown Hackney ponies for many years with his
parents, Dick and Audrey, and sister, Alecia, and later on his own.
David's wife, Linda, and daughter, Chrissy, are also actively
involved in this family hobby.
A few years back, with retirement looming from his job as Manager of
the Peterborough Memorial Centre -- home of the Peterborough Petes
-- and some "spare" time at the fairs, the family took the plunge
and started showing a road horse -- Mr. Budmar.
Now fully "retired" as a "full-time" blacksmith, David has expanded
both his road horse stable and his number of assistants.
